Built upon two natural thermal springs, the Ponente (Western) and the Levante (Eastern) ones, nowadays Bagni di Pisa is a 5-star, Leading Hotels of the World hotel hosting a 2000 sqm spa. Since its establishment, the hotel hosted many eminent figures of the time such as Mary Shelley, Lord Byron, Giacomo Puccini and Vittorio Alfieri.
The spa hosts 4 thermal pools, one outdoor pool, sauna, steam bath, relax areas and special treatment rooms, such as the Salidarium warm-salt-crystals bed and the Bagno Divino room, with private jacuzzi. The ancient Lorraine Family palace has 61 rooms, elegant Suites with original 18th century vaults frescoed with pastel colours, parquet mezzanines and floors in marble, graniglia, and Tuscan terracotta. Our Dei Lorena Restaurant offers chef Umberto Toscano’s dishes, in which flavours of the territory go hand in hand with a newfound wellness.
During summer, the latter can be tasted also in our outdoor Byron Court, named after the famous English poet who was so smitten with Italy and Tuscany. It is simply the best place here on summer days and nights, ideal for savouring the peace and quiet and the gentle breeze amid the fragrant fruit trees. The Court is located right at the beginning of the path leading to the Kaffeehaus. Built around 1859, it provides a destination for walks and creates an enchanting setting for a break or for a special dinner. This location is a spot from which the gorgeous landscape can be admired, while at the same time being a defining element of the landscape itself.

The Shelley Bar is our magnificent salon, the centre of life at Bagni di Pisa. Over the years, its refined style and the frescoed ceilings have remained intact, with the addition of a selection of cocktails and drinks you can sip and enjoy on your own or in company.
